According to the reports I've read it's only really damaged one of the four wings, and even then only written off the top floor/roof of that part - so if it stays empty for any longer there is still much to see.

Terrible news however considering development has been on the horizon. Curse of the summer holidays strikes again.

I think it's every bit as bad as it looks, but the building itself is enormous and so although it's obviously a huge fire the building as a whole has held up, it's not been compromised structurally which is good.

Felt pretty sick watching the vids, Ive past it a few times driving into Liverpool but never been inside it. Apparently the buildings structural integrity remains intact, thanks to many hours the fire brigade spent dowsing the flames. I hope it survives as its such a wonderful art deco building and so iconic to the area.
