Toot Toot! Here comes the tour bus! I actually really enjoyed this explore. It is something quite cool to have a largeish explore in such an urban environment; with the modern world going by in the windows, and you and your friends in this decaying ruin. Almost a different dimension.

I’ve actually made a few visits here; because its pretty local to me, and I wanted to show some mates around. I also sat on this report because I wanted to take my mates there to see it. This place is living proof of how the modern day tour bus can change sites. Each time I visited here; something drastic had changed.

There was just a week between two of my main visits and already the power was switched back on (not on my photographed visit) and things had been moved, or wrecked.

Going back to my comment about really enjoying this; I love derp industry; power stations, mills, factories etc, but for this occasion,, it was nice to have a very easy going place where you could just relax in silence and people watch. On my final visit here, we actually ate our lunch on the bleachers by the pool! It is quite possibly the most tourbussed I have ever seen a place. I met @LSUrbex Exploration and @Ell-Miller98 across two visits.

Of course; mucking about on the soft play, going down the flume and trampolining were also highlights.

The Magnet Leisure Centre originally opened in 1975; and was one of Berkshire's largest Community Leisure Centres.

The Magnet Leisure Centre was almost fully funded by the local council; Windsor and Maidenhead Council.

Magnet offered a wide variety of sports, sessions and activities, including:
-135 Station Gym
-25m Swimming Pool
-Leisure Pool
-8 Sports Courts
-Cafés
-Conference Rooms
-Group Fitness Studios (x2)
-Soft Play Area
-Squash Courts
Magnet Leisure Centre closed originally in March 2020 due to Covid-19; the place was adorned in warning notices for Covid; Probably the first explore I’ve seen with this! It reopened for a brief period and closed in September 2020 after the opening of its replacement “Braywick Leisure Centre”.

It is likely it will be bulldozed and replaced with apartments. 18 months closure is showing through now; especially the fully stocked ice cream freezer which smelt pretty bad!
