Marston on Dove pillboxes

Visited these unusal pillboxes with kaputnik. He told me that they are unique to the River Dove. Heres the pics

More very interesting pillboxes, good one Fezzyben. These are rather odd, it's as though the builder looked at the War Office plans and decided to just build them how he wanted. Amazed by the one with a sloped roof, makes me wonder if originally would these pillboxes have been camouflaged to look like farm buildings?

this is one further along the south bank of the Dove, than we went on this visit, (one to look at next time Fezzyben!)
almost buried/silted up type 24 at SK2468 2842,
possible Time Team dig for future generations

Oh, those are nice. I like the sloped roofed ones, especially the one that looks like a little house. Those bridge posts are cool.
