Visited these unusal pillboxes with kaputnik. He told me that they are unique to the River Dove. Heres the pics

More very interesting pillboxes, good one Fezzyben. These are rather odd, it's as though the builder looked at the War Office plans and decided to just build them how he wanted. Amazed by the one with a sloped roof, makes me wonder if originally would these pillboxes have been camouflaged to look like farm buildings?
 
Aye nice one mate, at least you were out having fun while i was stuck at work! :mrgreen:
 
this is one further along the south bank of the Dove, than we went on this visit, (one to look at next time Fezzyben!)
almost buried/silted up type 24 at SK2468 2842,
possible Time Team dig for future generations:mrgreen:
