once the home of the Wildt Mellor Bromley knitting machinery works founded in 1884
they were one of the largest manufacturers of knitting machines in the world
like most of leicesters large manufacturing times got hard in the 1970s
with cheap imports some costing £1000 less from europe
some floors are partly converted into flats and have been left to decay
the factory now seems abandoned
