Built in the late 1890's as a clinic and sanatorium. Taken over by the Deutsche Rote Kreuz in 1952 until the mid 80's where it was used as a refuge for mothers and their children. Lying derelict since the late 90's.

The wallpapers are at least 50 years old. The building of course is much older. It is known as "Gut Oheimb". Estate of the family with that funny name "Oheimb". The building started as an estate and ended as a ruin. The latest news says that it is sold and will be renovated.
The investor must have too much money. I think it´s cheaper to pull it down. Maybe he´s a fan of derilict places. I´m curious about the future of this building. Romford is right. In it´s long lasting history it was among other things a mother and child home (Müttergenesungsheim). I couldn´t find that word in my dictionary so I try to translate it on my own: Home where mothers should be enabled to regain their health.

Epic! Love that wall paper! I reckon if you cross your eyes and move your head away you see the ouotline of a dolphin or a hot air balloon! :p
Awesome pics, cheers for sharing! :)
