It was most definitely used as some sort of youth / social club in its later life as there is many pictures form its former glory still inside which was kinda of sad

This was just a chance spot while passing & as is often the case it turned out to be rather nice. The main feature is the higher floor main hall (which absolutely stunk from the pigeon infestation) & the Mural to the miners, with its central plaque to the life's lost in the Parkgate pit disaster of 1904 .

Down the ornate staircase, there is a mixture of small rooms & kitchen areas

Whilst working there we had a new lad who started coming - he was the son of Charlie Williams - the comedian - he wasn't allowed to live off his father's earnings - he was an apprentice at the steel works

Another substantial structure that could be adapted to present-day use. I was going to add my usual word 'elegant', but that might invite a demolition crew.

Me too. This place has quite a bit of a back story if you look at the commemorative plaque in there.

This was the hub of the community for 11to 21 year olds with up to 300 being in the premises on a regular basis - before a lot of health and safety restrictions - I left Rotherham in 1975 but still have fond memories of the place
