completed in 1902. Operated by the Kesteven County Council the facility was renamed to Kesteven Mental Hospital in 1924 and to Rauceby Mental Hospital in 1933. The hospital shut in 1997 and has been abandoned since.
Love this asylum, and it's history. Didn't expect much from today's visit. Was happily surprised. Lots of older reports out there to see the difference. The lucifer effect film was produced here, Go see their experiences if you're into the paranormal. Really happy I went to tale a look as my understanding was there wasn't much left to see. Really enjoyed today's explore.

OK I see, Simon Cornwell managed to do some good explorations before the work started.

I got speaking to a local resident who said the main admin building will be kept, but the patient wing buildings may now be demolished. There was planning for new homes, but that seems to have stalled. The chapel had been bought and was going to be a museum, and Cafe. It has since been sold again and is going to be a pub!
