St. Winnolls A was armed in 1942 with four 4.5"guns, the engine room still survives as do a couple of the positions, The command post of St. Winnolls B is in great condition, with junction boxes intact, these brought the telephone lines from the position finders nearby to the guns, also theres quite a few 400v fuse boxes and many cable channels can still be seen in the floors.....
sadly a few of the fuses have been smashed in an outbuilding
great great site, but really overgrown......unlike the coastal batteries.....this saw action.........
