Yet another day at Sunnyside! :D

Some history:

Carnegie House was originally built to house private patients and it looks out over formal gardens. The house was designed to resemble a country house, both externally and internally as this was considered to be of benefit to the patient's well-being. The patients were free to move around the grounds, as they wished and tennis courts, a croquet lawn, a bowling green and a curling pond were provided for recreational use. The ceiling in the dining room and one of the fire surrounds were painted by the eminent Scottish artist, Douglas Strachan (1875-1950). It was built in 1896 and is named after the founder of the hospital, Susan Carnegie.

This building is stunning. The level of detail is just incredible. I am kicking myself for not spending a bit longer in here, but I got to see the one part I have always wanted to see with my own eyes. I'll just let the pictures do the talking!

That ceiling is incredible. I think I prefer this part to the main building...

That ceiling is a stunner, it's a shame it'll probably end up on the floor.

I took so many shots with my wide and my fish, just couldn’t get a good enough pic because of the way the sunlight was coming in directly. This is one building being saved, I just wish Angus Council would stop being fucktards and let Pert Bruce get on with the work!

Nice photos. My favourite is the shots of the ceiling. I assume it was the entrance to the hospital. But tartan carpet in some of the corridors.
