**TRIGGER WARNING DUE TO CONDITION OF CATS- SSPCA and Cats Protection were called to remove the poor things and council made aware of the fact the building may need environmental heath to condemn

Not much history on the property itself however this house is literally round the corner from me, not a new one on the circuit but locally its a woman (her name will remain anonymous) that owns the property who has physical and mental disabilities and co ditions. The property once belonged to her mother and it is rumoured that she still resides here but others also say she is now in assisted living in the town.

A friend of mine is a bus driver on the local route who has told me several times he has almost knocked the woman off her bike as she is said to be very unbalanced, after checking her welfare she had confirmed to him she just goes back to feed the cats in the property and its the weight of the cat food on the handlebars that unbalances her. Goung by the amount of empty cat tins and the new boxes of food laying around I'd believe it however the condition of the cats was unbearable to see.

Electric meter still running, ceiling beginning to collapse, windows in bad shape, floors giving out and doors barricaded open and rotting.

Took as many photos as I could but we were not willing to venture past the first room due to concerns of not having safety equipment other than face masks and the smell alone was unbearable.

Remember guys, take only photos and only leave footprints 🙂

Blimey this is one sorry looking place & well done for reporting the cats.
Do u think someone still lives there with them? It wouldnt surprise me seeing how some people live.

Well done on getting some posts up straight away.

I sincerely hope not 😔 she would be extremely ill if not dead if she was living in that, i know the woman and if you see her in the shop my god she smells awful, the staff go around with airfreshner after she has been in so questionable wether she does!

How sad it is to see a well-intentioned cat-lover lose control like this. As a crazy cat lady with rescue cats, I have been mortified that my own house has less tidiness than I would like when Long Covid struck, but of course clean litter trays and food were the priority. I give thanks that my husband and I have managed to putter on somewhat better than this! I see the staining and blench at the thought of the reek.
In my years in cat rescue and working for a while in a shelter - I had to get out of that, I wasn't strong enough to handle the humans - I have seen cats in worse condition from hoarding situations, and have climbed over fences and up drainpipes to retrieve cats left locked in places. And have worn the fleas from said situation. When a pale coloured kitten looks black for the crawling livestock, that's a bad situation...
Well done for reporting it, sometimes it's the only way. I hope the RSPCA won't just put them all down.

Bless you 🥰 it was awful to see and had i the ability and facility to remove them myself i would but I didnt have protective clothing and glives and couldnt risk being scratched or bitten so we didnt touch the cats.

As for your comment after explaining on the phone the co dition of the cats and described the breathing and the kitten looked as though it had a facial infection and its breathing was like gargling its likely that they may be put to rest 😔 i have put my name down to rescue the kitten and the mother clinging by its side if they otherwise can bring them back ti health. I hated having to walk away from that house leaving the cats in filth, gave my a sick ferling in my stomach like calling them just wasn't enough 😭

no, quite, it's a risky business. I went in motorcycle leathers!
That is nasty, and quite likely to end in euthenasia, poor little thing. However, modern medicine is wonderful, it could be cat flu, which can cause eye infection, to the point of needing nucleation ....taking the eye out. However, if this is an option, blind cats can function very well indeed, and are much less handicapped than blind humans as their senses of smell and hearing compensate. and their whiskers! Three of my cats have only one eye apiece. The greatest handicap a cat can have is to lose its tail, which causes problems with jumping, and depending how much is lost, more or less continence problems. They can learn to jump again and gain more continence control if there is even the smallest stump. I hope they can save them and that you can have them! good luck to all the cats. Remember they'll have some psychological problems from being under stress and you may have poop and pee issues in inappropriate places. Stay calm, ply the smell-away spray, put them on the litter box after such a mistake, praise whenever they use it, and if need be, introduce an excess of boxes [even if only with a sheet of newspaper in] in places regularly... used... and gradually move them to a more acceptable place. One of mine still poops by the front door where she was traumatised by a breakin where the burglar had just kicked her out when I confronted him. Large elderly lady in voluminous nighty scared him into fleeing, but not before he upset poor brain-damaged, half-blind Dora who is an indoor kitty.

Aww hopefully they can save them id happily take them and i know several others local to me who would rescue the others too! 🥰

Aww poor cats 😔

I'm not sure if this is the place, but I saw a video of a house similar , with lots of cats. The lady approached the lads who were Filming, to tell them house was private property, that she was living in her car. A red car, full of her belongings. She was friendly enough, and chatted mostly about the cats. Not sure how old the video was. I hope the cats have a happy ending. 😊

It could be, the lady has cysts on her head with a medical condition? Thus house has been on the curcuit for years however ive personally only seen her cycling or on the bus so not sure about the car.

I believe she is now in assisted living accomodation but visits to feed the cats but the cats were just bags of bones so didnt look like they ate in years 😔

I'm not sure it is the same place. This lady looked quite well, on the large side, she didn't seem unwell. It's crazy how many people are living like this, especially having lots of cats! Really hope the cats are able to be saved, and live out the rest Of their lives happy.

You're right there about how some people still live! I checked out a house on the way back from work a few weeks ago. The roof had holes in it, even a tree growing out of it! Heading round the back I came across a huge pile of human waste! It completely baffled me, the pile of crap. I decided to I would go back at the weekend. Came home and looked online to see if I could find any history on the place. Turns out the old man still lives there, and refuses to move out, or get work done. Obviously he doesn't have a working toilet or upstairs is no longer accessible. I'm so glad I didn't go in! 😄

Dont suppose you have a link to the video do you? Im curious to watch 🙂

Because they are isolated from society and have a mental illness.
Or do they "isolate" themselves by their own actions? As for what is a "mental illness", the list grows, as does the number of sufferers. Is trespassing on private land to photograph derelict places - and risk injury in doing so - another? Oops!

Your comments are insensitive and not called for! Lots of people suffer from mental illness; myself included! It comes in all shapes and sizes, and your view is very out dated. I hope for your sake you mental health doesn't take a dive, because from your comments, your not very likeable and therefore people will not want to be there for you!
