This site has been done many times so I'm gonna skip the blurb but for me it's been one of those places you put on the list but never get round to doing!!!

Well thanks To Porky Pig I finally did.

I do like a good bit of industrial but this place didn't quite hit the mark for me like it did for PP but then he gets excited about digital watches and LED lights

This was our third try of the day after 2 fails so it was a bonus to actually get some pics and after a little wander around entry was rather easy so alls good

Any way here's my pics from the place.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed my take on the place

Please forgive the ignorance of a nesh southerner (!), but where is the mill and what did it produce? What was the name of the company? What are the numbered glass bottles with the electrical leads? Are the rods thermometers, to measure the temperature of the liquid? Or did they heat the liquid? What was the liquid? I see a wall chart is headed "Calorific Fundamentals". Is that a clue?

The mill produced fabrics and is in t'yakshire.....I know nothing of most of what you ask

As far as location and name I virtually never name a site or give a location in my reports.

It makes little difference as other folk name and give location to sites but its how I've always done things

Good selection of shots. Amusingly the live-in security hounds have gone, and the owners have nailed six panel internal doors across all the windows... they always miss a bit though.

IIRC the glass bottles and hoses are part of a "colour kitchen" which is used to mix dyes.

They certainly have enough doors to choose from lol.. u will get the joke if u made it into the engineering shop side!
I did 2 visits here in close secession, one with my lad & one with my exploring mate as I had missed the labs etc first time. There was boarding up took place between my 2 visits & the labs were real hard work to get into.

The labs were easy when we went, the loft with the circular knitting looms was wide open, the boiler house was less straightforward but we got in … then tried the workshops but couldn't find a way in. Looks like they'd sealed the "conveyor" that runs between the buildings pretty effectively. Anyway, happy that we got to see a lot of it. :)
