Had a return here to see a few of the bits off the beaten track, visited with Natevansate and Randomnut from 28DL, nice relaxed explore in the blazing sun.

You all know the history by now..........so on with the pics.

I'd wager that a considerable portion of the forum membership do not know the history. Even West Park's most recent history, as a staple part of the asylum seekers diet over the past seven or so years, is likely not something that people are fully aware of the details of.

I guess a lot of people do know some information regarding the location, sure it's easy enough to schpeel off dates and statistics, and who reads it any how? I see a paragraph opening with "West Park was built in . . ." and usually switch off. To bring something new historically, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to share some insight in relation to your photographs taken, experiences had, something personal, I really appreciate that. A particularly good example would be all the asylum stuff on: http://www.mechanised.org.uk/.

Hey, I'm not being an arse btw. It just so happened that your use of the quoted phrase coincided with my 1000th time of reading it and so prompted a response.

Looks like you had a fun visit. Did you say hello to the lovely security guy? LOL! I swear that his job would be so tedious without explorers keeping him on his toes.

Good point Jondoe, I will add some text re.the photos and the day, I personally prefer to see some narration of the visit, not sure on how others feel about it though
