Hi all!! Now, as i posted the other day, i personally caught someone in the old wards last friday afternoon They were very pleasant and friendly, but were escorted downstairs and ejected by facilities staff. I then spoke to senior management about the above incident. As a result, since monday, work has proceeding at an unheard of pace, to secure the entire upstairs area, to include ALL of the old wards. This work has now, been completed, and the place is now TOTALLY secure. Just...

Another new find. I discovered this massive place by luck the other week, only had enough time for a quick look, I couldn't find an obvious way inside, I had other plans for the day. I soon asked a local explorer to take a look around it to see if I missed anything. Fast forward to this week, He said he found a way inside and said it was good. So I set off, and got to the house. I found the entry point after searching for a bit. When I set foot inside, I was still pretty amazed with what...

The door furniture, style of interior doors, fasteners on the 'Crittall' widows, light switches and the tiled fireplaces all point to this place being pre WW2 and of mid to late '30's origin - if post war, then very early '50's. The downstairs has been fitted with a 13 amp ring main in at least one room, although there does seem to be a brown 15 amp on the side of the chimney breast in photograph 6. However in 30's to 50's build properties one expects to find a miss match of electrical socket...

It's almost completely gone, only a small section of the frontage which presumably contains the atrium/staircase is left.

Nicely done. Not a bad looking house, worth a renovation. The fireplaces are nice and the Singer sewing machine lid is present but the rest of it is missing. I think someone has tried to remove the wardrobe out of the bedroom but gave up.

I love the hulks and the way the locals seem to have adopted them and actually care for them. Last time I was down there I visited Bullo Pill on the other side of the river where was a few boats waiting to be broken up.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
