What a waste of a beautiful house, love the library but am boggled by the amount of lagged pipework in the roof space. So glad you didn't purge this one TranKmast

I'd forgotten I'd got these pictures knocking around. A while ago I treated myself to a NAS drive and thought I'd swopped everything over to it but clearly hadn't. Just as well I hadn't purged the older one. I really need to delete some stuff but rather than commit I get bored sorting it and buy more storage instead. Anyhow, on with the show.

Visited with Mr Konrad (aka Conballz) I couldnt find a great deal of history on this one but it was a deep refuge shelter which incoperated a hospital/dressing station, offices and sleeping areas. This place is totally untouched, free from vandalism, graffiti and is mostly very dry. (I really hope it stays that way) I pulled up at our meeting point, a nearby car park at approx 5:00AM and out of the darkness appeard a figure, at that time in the morning I thought I was about to loose my...

Hard to believe someone would just walk away from here, but it happens. Looks like they even left their car behind. Maybe one to go back to once some decay has set in. :)

Nice little bungalow but the inside a little too new for me, there was still food in the fridge which was switched on, all you had to do was turn the water on and live there, spent about a hour in here, just as we got back to the car a van pulled up, a fella jumped out and asked why we had been in his neighbors house, I said I was interested in old buildings,we told him we hadn't been inside, he was great and said the owner had bought a new house and just left everything. He had given their...

I had visitors up for a long weekend being Mocking Bird and Blod (We will have to get her to set up a name on here) I picked them up from the Station Thursday after work and dropped them off before work Monday morning. We had 13 locations on our list for the weekend and in the end managed 8 with a couple having cars parked outside, 1 I had been before and I knew it had fallen in on itself, One I had entered the co ords in my (NEW) satnav wrong and ended up miles away. the other just ran out of...

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
