I go to this place quite often and just have a wander around. It covers a vast area and is quite annoying to get to a lot of the structures. There are ditches all over the place and you keep going to a dead end and having to turn and go back!

Was an old explosives factory that closed in the early 1900's. You can read a lot about the place in this document.

If you do visit it can be a very very long walk but with a decent motor, preerably 4x4 or very dry weather, you can drive a good way towards the place. It is on open farm land so as always, please close gates, watch the livestock etc...
