I was in Armagh for a few days and when looking up train times from Belfast stumbled across information regarding a mothballed line.
The Lisburn–Antrim line of Northern Ireland Railways. It links Knockmore Junction on the Belfast–Newry railway line with Antrim on the Belfast–Derry railway line. It originally closed in 1978 and re-opened in 2001 to provide a faster link. The line closed again in 2003 and since has been cut off at one end so technically is now a very long siding. The line was last used to test new trains in 2012 and on one September Sunday in 2013.
