This weekend saw some more parts fitted in the Jigsaw which is the Red line. One pillbox I knew of but it was just a matter of haveing the to go and ask if I could visit and get some photo's, it filled in part of the Stopline from Abingdon to Appleton. That now leaves two to track down, one exists and I know where it is the other I'm unsure if it is still there.
The next two are maked up on the DOB but not where you would expect them to be. The are along what I call the upper Thames or as it should be known the River Isis. From the Thames path nithere are visable and even in Googlel earth you would struggle to see them I eventally tracked them down useing Elgin maps they now fill the map up to Duxford and I know what is to be the next explore in a few weeks. ANy way on with the photo's.
First is Old Shifford Farm.
Looks in great condition thoughis fenced off. I did not jump the fence and the hedge is quite thick.
Entrance taken through the fence.
Inside taken through one of the Loopholes.
From here I took a treck across the field after telling the farm over where I was going. I followed the river as I had an idea as to where the pillbox was which was on an other land owners land.
It is in the middle of that lot, I had to climb a couple of fences and a ditch to get here.
And iff you pear through sloe bush you see this.
I got to the pillbos by going round the bush and finding a ditch and was rewarded by this view.
Took this on the timer with the small camera I tote about.
Not sure if any one would want to visit this pillbox as it is rather remote and I'm not sure who owns it so I hope they forgive my going here.
Last one which is in Frilford and in a private garden so permision will be needed. Seems I was not the only one to ask about looking at it as a young lady doing a masters degree and been round to view as well not so long ago, any way my thanks to the owner for letting be get a few photo's.
That is it for now till I go on another treck to find some more which could be either further up the red line or along the Blue.
