Default Allan-Williams Turret, Grantham, December 2016

Done this delightful little Allan-Williams Turret before. Was passing so thought I'd pop and see it again. This time though I took all the pictures on my phone to try and get a different angle on this lovely relic from WWII:

That's interesting, a nice bit of history. A very few of these remain.

They're so cute. I wouldn't want to be caught in one though... they'd offer zero protection.

Fortunately the violent tempest of war didn't blow through this bit of Grantham.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
