This former locomotive depot situated south of Sheffield Midland station was opened by the Midland Railway in 1901. It was located at OS Map ref SK340837 at Ecclesall on the west side of the main line. Sadly it has been finally demolished recently. It closed on 1st January 1962 and was used subsequently as a private industrial premises. Tesco's car park and shop now occupy the former shed yard. I took the attached photos on 25th April 2009. I climbed over the fence at the end of Tesco's car park. I did not realise it was that long ago.
