Malvern Waste Incinerator
August 2012
A Bit of History
Malvern Waste Incinerator was built by the local County Council in the late 1970's but it soon came to a close in the early 1990's when there were petitions for it's closure due to fears of pollution.
The current owner, Peter Styles, has revealed plans to demolish this incinerator and build 7 homes on the site. Last year Peter made an application to build a Eco Community consisting of 24 homes but this was turned down by councillors.
There is a massive waste issue within the Worcestershire area where around 80,000 tonnes of specialist waste is being trucked out of the country each year so it's not surprising that there are calls for this industrial unit to be brought back to life as it's original purpose.
The Explore
Not much really to say about this explore as it was very unplanned. I was in the area for a totally different reason but thought I would pop in and take a couple of shots.
Dogs and Horses were roaming around the site with me which made things a little entertaining at times and with the place being made of metal, it's rusting through on the upper floor, add's a bit of fun to things though!
Anyway, on with the pics...
