1. The History
This is a revisit for me – called it Ta Prohm Terrace first time around due to similarities with ruins I saw in Angkor Wat, Cambodia, when I went there. It is a long terrace of old houses just outside the village of Luk Teng Chan Uk in the North East of the New Territories. I could find no history then and can find no history now!
2. The Explore
When I visited this place two years ago it had been newly cleared of vegetation and a street ran down the front of this long row of traditional houses. See here:

Imagine to my surprise on my return that the whole site was completely overgrown again with a marsh in front of it. Front access was not an option.

As the site is now seriously reclaimed by nature:

After sliding down a bank I managed to get round the back of the row of houses and start taking pictures. It was like a scene out of tomb-raider in there. These are very old houses that have been abandoned for a very long time. Very, very photogenic but difficult conditions to get good pictures.
3. The Pictures
Here’s the stream/marsh that has appeared in front of the terrace:

Round the side we go:

Not much left of this place:

Obligatory abandoned pot:

The vegetation round the back is intense:

This place would have been a sizeable house:
