We went to have a look round these brickworks over the weekend.
The main building contains 4 large asbestos lined kilns, heated from a network on tunnels passing underneath the site. Most of the machinery and wiring has been stripped, leaving some parts of the building in a very dangerous condition with missing floors and hanging girders.
There are a few small outbuildings and a weighbridge near to the entrance.
Be warned; the missing floors and hanging girders are very dangerous, as is the amount of asbestos. Do not go into the portakabin office adjoining the main building, as the floor is rotten and there is a 4 foot drop followed by 4 foot of water filled with rusty metal.
