Default Lordline Building - Hull 2017

    First report!

So, I visited Lordline recently, and considering how popular this building is, I am quite surprised that there aren't many reports on this place.

    anyway, the history:
Lordline was built in 1949, and was a major asset towards Hull's fishing industry. The building was part of St Andrew's Dock. (The dock being named after the Paitron Saint of fisherman). The docks were not only useful for trawlermen, but also helped greatly in both world wars. work was very hard for the Trawlermen, as they worked long hours and didn't earn much for it. The working conditions were also very poor. As the fishing industry got bigger, it was moved to Albert Dock in 1975, and Lordline and surrounding buildings were officially closed.

    the explore:
The place is literally trashed and full of graffiti, but its still worth a look. It has been the subject of many articles recently about teenagers throwing things from the roof which is such a shame. There was a gang of people there when I visited, but I just ignored them and carried on. I don't think it will be long till the building is gone.

I hope you all liked the images and that my first post was enjoyable.

Thanks you for that. Didn't go inside when I was there as I was solo, there was one entry point (that I could see) and a group of youths hanging around outside so common sense own over valour and decided not to go in...

Thank you! And it's owned by Manor property group, but they've recently been told to act now 'before someone dies' so I can see work happening pretty soon.

Great stuff, I grew up on the other side of the river in Grimsby and remember going to the fishing heriatage centre as a young lad. thanks for sharing.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
