I've passed this place countless times and always wanted to have a look...
After being reminded about the place by another photographer I was inspired, after a couple of recce's I decided a full urbex was needed... Me and my bro JimmyTunn went up there one frosty Febuary morning...
The building is open on all sides, with a huge lack of doors and windows, The building is in a sorry state, several rooms are flooded and pretty much everything has been smashed to bits... They have them new fancy "powdered toilets" (just add water?)
Images on flickr
The ladder from the first roof up to the upper roof
The lower roof/skating rink
The main roof
Detail of some instruments on the roof
Jimmy on the roof
The "main" room (from an upstairs window)
The same room from below
one of the partially flooded areas
The building is now home to some interesting graffiti,
Some better than others...
The "control room" on the roof
Built with the finest bricks!
"Take away only memories, leave only footprints"
The contractors...
You'll notice in one of the final shots... two guys... Whilst Jimmy was shooting with his rollei downstairs I went for a look upstairs, I heared voices from outside as I peeped out I noticed five guys walking towards us with hard hats and visi vests... Turns out after a discussion with them, they were contractors... The building is scheduled for demolition... Sadly it's going to make way for a new road...
We'd put of this urbex for so long, how prominent we turned up on the day it's scheduled to be levelled...
