Another local one from me.. I visited this almost every week since late 2006 and took photos of its gradual decay. Sadly, local kids got in there too and the places was set alight a couple of times, covered in graffiti tags and vandalised. The largest building on the site, I'm told, was once a residential place and there was also a small farm on the site.
It's hard to find any real info about the place except that it was once used by a College in Herts.
Demolition was due to start in early 2007 but you couldn't see much from the outside.. but after a bit of email persuasion I was allowed in by a rep from the developers who had purchased the land. So I explored for nearly a whole day.
Demolition actually started just recently and today as I drove past (really slowly) there is nothing there at all. Heaps of rubble and some machinery. What a weird empty feeling that was.
Hope you like these pictures.. first up, here's the exterior views: *these are mostly 07/08*

That's actually part of Hill End Hospital, which was mostly demolished in the mid 90s.

It was the farm workers villa and the farm buildings.

When the hospital closed, these buildings were used by the local college.
