Another trip to Norfolk and managed to see a few more places, apologies for the photos, they seem to have come out quite bright :confused:

Opened 1958
Closed 1991

The FSM had rotted through and was on top of the vent

A bit of water in the sump, unfortunatly,as usual the pump was seized

That is a sealed airtight container for the Very Pistol that some of the posts were issued with in the Second World War and up to the fall of the observation role, they were bolted to the the floor and locked with a padlock, they are quite rare to find unbolted from the floor.

I have one that is unbolted and its in mint condition, only thing is that it is locked and i dont have the key!

This one was still bolted to the floor - didnt seem to have a lid though :mad:
 
you do love your roc post mate;) cracking find bud im yet to see one there are ment to be a couple in corby that i think im gunna have a bash at tracking down cool stuff
