Great pictures, you could have loads of fur running around there with various 10th century weapons and perhaps an inflatable dragon or two! :)

    Nice pictures there!:)

I remember visiting there in the early 1890's with me Olds, and there was a blind donkey (due to he used to work down a mine), who would pull a huge wooden wheel, think it operated the well bucket? Great to see some pics of this place. Ta very much for sharing them with us.

Visited Carisbrooke Castle in 1968 - on honeymoon. Surely it is not closed now?

No it's owned by english heritage & quite a popular tourist attraction.

Havent been there since seeing a open air performance of "a midsummer nights dream" an night a couple of years ago. The wellhouse & the donkey's are well worth going to see.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
