Location
Leicestershire
A couple of derelict houses on a busy road near a Leicester hospital. I had a appointment and saw them passing, so after I went back to take a look.
The first one is quite boring and newer looking. First entry point took me to a locked kitchen door with a pane of glass smashed out and the light on! The kitchen had been ransacked and everything that belongs in a kitchen all over the floor. There was another access point into the lounge . Some beautiful, thick set table legs propped up by the window were they protection for whoever may be inside? Or protection for me on entering?. I didn't enter! The ceiling fan in the lounge was on and spinning like crazy. I didn't want to take my chances, most of the bungalow was hoarded up and dark. gave it a miss and popped to next doors.
This would have a been a beautiful house, maybe a farm in its hey day.i did venture inside , but again boarded up and dark, with lots of black mould. Alot more furniture and beautiful fireplaces, apart from the lounge I didn't photo any further.. I did take a walk imro the hallway, and another lounge, again lots of black mould and dark. A few more pieces of furniture and lovely fireplaces. But due to the location and graffiti really put me off venturing further inside especially being alone....

These houses are in a not too bad condition. In Picture 6 the fans in the ceiling show a bit blurry but the rest of the picture is sharp. Did you say that the power was on and the fans were spinning? The first house in Picture 9 has a patio and a triple garage. Again my opinion about grafitti still stands. And that showing on Pictures 18 and 19 is spoiling the house. Are these houses on the market? Because they are in good condition, the roof is intact.

The bungalow was in really good condition apart from the smashed windows, and the trashed kitchen. Just needs decorating. Second house is alot more dilapidated, holes in the ceilings, floor sketchy underfoot, and that terrible black mould.
The fan was on and spinning in that pic, definitely put me off going inside. Probably for the best...
Not for sale as far I know. No signs up and not seen them online anywhere

I have found 2 planning applications 1 for the houses to be retained, and modernised and 8 new houses buiit. The 2nd application is for their demolition and a care home built on the land. Although the neighbours aren't happy with the care home plan with 20 opposing the plan.

I found some photographs of the buildings before theyir derelict states. The dormer bungalow being nearly a century old with modifications and extensions .
The other is a period property with original features.

They look as though they were once quite nice. Plenty of potential. Presumably bought by someone and allowed to rot so that they could apply for demolition.
