Lone Pillbox At Hose Notts

Another lone "box in a field" The farmer seemed to think it once had something to do with RAF Langar but it seems a bit far away to me but who knows she was also under the impression its a listed building so maybe its at least safe from demolision.First time Ive seen angle iron lintels as well

DOB PILLBOX (TYPE FW3/22): S0000517
Description: 25/08/1995 Type 22 hexagonal pillbox. Brick. Five embrasures plus one either side of the entrance. Entrance has concrete loop. Rectangular central pillar with rounded corners. 05/04/1996 Hexagonal, concrete with brick outer skin. Brick cross central pillar with rounded corners. Concrete stepped embrasures.

I hope you gave the farmer no reason to think it isn't listed, because it isn't. Interesting to note that these singletons you're posting omit a regular anti ricochet wall in favour of a roof support. Saving on bricks perhaps?

lol i had to check but then its google earth so you might be right anyway
