A few photos of the emergency water supply for the ammo dump at Monkton Farleigh. These two fairly large ponds...about 35 foot square and approx.5foot deep were built to contain water for fire fighting purposes should there be a fire underground.Personally if a fire broke out in an ammo dump my reaction would be to run like hell, never was really made of hero material I guess.

the second pond shrouded by dense vegetation of the very scratchy kind this was the only shot I could get but it's identical with the first
The rest of the photos are of the adjacent pump house
power supply

pump bed
outlet pipe the supply to the dump
the inlet pipe the feed through the wall comes from the second pond the branch on the left comes from the first
the feed from the first pond this links to the branch in the previous picture
original fuse box
replacement box and a spaghetti junction of conduit
wall mounted heater I guess to stop the pump from freezing in winter
close up of the heater
And finally I spotted another set of pylon supports for the overhead ropeway
