Visited here on sunday, (sorry no report till now been uber busy)

The place really is falling apart. started running out of light so thought it would be a bad idea to venture upstairs where the floor was clearly failing. a few photos but plan a return visit in better light for some more.

so after been attack by the local pigeons these are the shots i got.

not the best photo's i've ever taken but we'll be back for more!

That brings back memories - I used to work there as a porter.
I knew the place had closed but didn't realise what a state it was in. My sister lives locally and i believe there were plans to build a supermarket on the site, but these were fiercely opposed by the locals.

There were three buildings as i remember, the main hospital, the admin block which was an old house, and the nurses home.
Most of those pics look like the latter two.

Assume it is still owned by the NHS. Maybe they are letting it deteriorate to such an extent that it falls down and they can sell the land to Tescos.

i assume it was the admin block as somebody else has describe it as an old manor house. i don't know about plans for supermarket but it would have to be a fairly small one as the place around it is full of new houses.

it's in a really bad state and the basement is full of asbestos.

Nice one Phantom..There's some nice plaster features in there, sadly most of them are on the floor now. This was my first ever explore.. It seems so long ago now.. I remember shitting myself at the time
