Not to get beaten by missing the Pb's in the area, i went out again to retrace my steps, get up there for 07.30hr and spend a lazy day strolling the area. Great day, but again recovering from cuts, nettle stings, heavy sunburn and for some reason a bruised ankle!.
Despite my best efforts some PB's still remained elusive. Towards the end of the day i was beat and very tired. Walking top off around the bridleways seemed a great idea at the time but i seemed to scare all the old ladies and young women walking their dogs. Top off
Again parking up in Watling Knoll i took the stroll over Colney Street Bridge and out into the field on the left of Radlett Road. Even though i had marked up that the PB was low profile and hard to find i still managed to walk past it and seem distracted by the horses in the field. Cutting back on myself i was a tell tale sign of concrete and cut across the empty field to the PB. Almost completely buried up to the roof there was not too much to detail.

Cutting back onto the familiar bridleways of Munden farm i now knew exactly where to go after getting my previous orienteering trip blown off course and ending up on the wrong side of the fields.

Sat in heavy hedgerows the only chance of getting to this was to avoid the private access road and the car parked up the top, cut through the hedge on the field and enter blind side to the car. I must learn to find an easier way into the hedgerows but i blundered on regardless.

Working my way back down to the house at the junction of Common meadow Lane and Blackbirds lane i took a breather here before going through the gate opposite the house and taking in the AT blocks which were sat on the far fenceline.
This is the area that confused me but it turns out the DoB has incorrectly marked up the Roadblock sat at the edge of the woods and the line of AT blocks sat in Crab Lane.
ANTI TANK BLOCK: S0005003 and ANTI TANK BLOCK: S0005002 need switching around.
The remains of the left side of the roadblock, completely smashed and laying on top of the culvert. Originally this area was flooded but is now bone dry.
This is where the fun began for me. Wearing three quarter length shorts i had to wade through heavy nettles to reach the PB. Almost in site i considered giving up. i didn't want to take the easier route along the tree line and the farmers crops for obvious reasons. I had to stop for a ciggie break when finally reaching the PB to give my legs a rest. The PB is on the slide and is being undermined on the side which faces what wound have been the previously marshy ground. The woods show a river running behind it which leads to the River Colne but as mentioned this has long since dried out. It didn't stop the mozzies being out in force though!! Someone has previously been living in the PB as there is a camp bed in there and bricks which have been used to cover the embrasures. The PB is heavily frost damaged as can be seen.

The next site involved a lovely trek across the fields and up School Lane to the junction of Station Road and Mount Pleasant Lane. On the left hand side are AT tumblers? which luckily caught my eye almost when i had given up. Casually piled up on the side of the road - i had to clear fallen branches before taking the photos.

I then took a drive and stocked up on food and drink and headed up to RAF Radlett (Frogmore) to attempt to find the PB marked up on the DoB layer. The area the PB is sited in is now a tree plantation and to get in there it involved scaling the old perimeter fencing and barbed wire. Despite hunting high and low for this PB i just couldn't find it. Could the DoB layer have marked up the old skip that is sat there. The trees are fairly sparse in this area and despite walking around for ages i couldn't locate it.
I decided to then cross the fields to the A414 to hunt for the Williams Turret. On the route i took the old perimeter track of the airfield.
Finally what i was after and a first for me. The Williams Turrett is sat in the line of trees overlooking the A414 and is not sprayed up which was my biggest fear. (that and not finding it).

Finally i took in the start of the line of 9 PB's running from East of Radlett and south of Shenley to the Old Guinnea Public House but this will be put onto another post at a later date when i have located them all. So far i have reached two and then called it a day.
