Hi Engineer
I assume this building was primarily residential, looking at the proportions. However, it was visually really scrappy, so possibly was adapted for some storage or industrial use - right in front of this face of the building are the remains of several other buildings - looks like small workshops and stables - built of the same mix of materials. Some day i'll research further in the local records!
Surprisingly, the building has been renovated! Just this year - I was VERY surprised, as it is in a cramped site, no parking, no frontage to roads at all, just accessed by a yard off a one way street. However, the black slag blocks are no longer visible - rendered over!!!! I'll take a pic or two. At least its still there.
Hi LooLoo
Its near Kingswood church and community centre! If you stand in the roadway leading to the carpark of the leisure centre, right next to the wall of the churchyard, and look across the road, raise your eyes over the rooftops and you will see a higher roof!
Then go to find the building by crossing the road, go down the hill, left down the oneway street (next to KTS) and you will find an archway on the left, go through, and there it is!
Unfortunately, as I told Engineer, it has been rendered, and the blocks are not apparent!!
