Hi there sports fans.
Well another year passes and another family holiday looms, so with the normal holiday stuff packed, ie caving helmet, 4 gas, lights and camera etc its off to do the DP/Subbrit stuff in Cyprus.

So the good lady is by the pool along with the other "Brits on holiday" and I`m off to do some mines.

I started off with the abandoned copper mines of the Kalavasos area in south east Cyprus, copper has been mined here for many years, the last mines closed down in the 1990`s.

It was a day of boom and bust.
first off was this loading ramp the whole area is full of tailings but I could not find an Adit that was
get in able.

Just along from this is the mine entrance but it has about 8 feet of back fill just inside which now means the main passage is proper flooded.

So on to the next site and what do you know some signs I cant read so in we go.
This mine has two protected concrete entrance ways that then lead to a 100-200 foot slope shaft.
There are passages going every which way.

There is very little left down here, some cables and iron hooks in the tunnel walls.

What a lovely holiday, leave the wife to do her thing and get out exploring, you've cracked it Newage, Lovely Pics, I think the wall pins might have carried wires for firing charges electronically, I seen similar at South Crofty, I enjoyed it, Thanks

Smiler, I'll go along with you on that, there were old wires running down the slope shaft
To the bottom, also along the walls of the slope shaft were wire hangers.
There were also remains of wooden sleepers going down the slope shaft, I did try and get
Pictures but they just did show what I wanted.
