A beautiful old farm house that was part of the Durham OX inn, and before its closure a restaurant. I have searched so hard ro try and find some history of the farmhouse but to no avail. I have found a few pictures 1 of the farm house and 1 of the old Durham Ox Inn and a newspaper cutting from the Grantham journal of the sale of the farm house. The house was a familiar meeting place for the Quorn hunt in its day.
This wasn't for the faint hearted, inside it was definitely one wrong move and you're toast! Such a shame to see it in this way.

At Six Hills the Roman Fosse Way crosses a minor Roman road running from the ironstone ridge above Long Clawson down to the River Soar at Barrow. The site was probably the meeting place for the Anglo-Saxon administrative 'moots'. The Roman roads remained in use for many centuries as drovers' roads, as is confirmed by the original name of the inn there – The Durham Ox – which is frequently associated with drovers' resting places.
If anyone knows any history I would love to hear it 😊
