Had to drop the 'rents off at a wedding reception recently, didn't fancy coming home to go back again as it was an hour's journey.
This site is close to the A1, near a Little Chef. Which on the drive past I thought was another explore waiting until I saw cars in the car park and realised it was still open, looked like a proper dive
Bit of info on the company taken from their website, which was obviously setup a pretty long time ago, as I think there'd be alot of compnays wanting the engineeringservices.co.uk website address.
Here's the site link, Engineering Services
This was the second place I went to, I did see it earlier in the day but it's a bit secluded and as I stopped, I saw a car parked up the side road with people in the back, left them to it and went back later on
The first thing that drew me to the site was the house that basically backed straight onto the site, only on approach did I realise there was something industrial there aswell
The house was pretty much intact, although no furniture or anything and it looked like someone had been in to get to wiring as some floor boards were up showing wiring and a radiator had been taken off the wall ready to take out. There was a key ring with a picture of the MD whose pic is on the website, so assume it was his house.
The office part of the factory/warehouse was empty of anything of interest really, probably took everythng when the company relocated. There's some damage maybe from chavs, but likely from pikey's when stripping stuff from the place. There wasn't much left in the production part either and it wasn't very big, so I can see why they relocated.
Not sure when they reloctaed, did see a calender in the offices dated 2001, but there was some papers in what looked like a garge that was attached the to warehouse, one being a letter from Sky dated 2005.
Enough babble, on with the pics
Front of the house
Tennis court
Swimming pool in here, still had water in, may just be able to make out stuff floating in the water in this pic
Outside on the drive!
Rather worrying in the house, not sure why someone would put it there but no evidence of blood or anything nearby.
View of the factory from the house, as you can see the house literally does back onto the factory.
In the yard
Offices
What colour would you like your blinds sir?
Someone was a bit early I think
Main part of the factory, as you can see not very big. Obviously stored all the pipework outside
MD is obviously well travlled
From work on the A1, it looks like the site is going to go, maybe they had an incentive to go due to that Not a bad place really and pretty out of the way, explains why the house still has many windows intact.
