Newbie in Scotland

Hi all, been aware of the site for a while now and thought it was time i joined up, Im interested in all types of photography generally and this will be another string to my bow.
I have a couple of questions if someone feels like being nice to a newbie ?
Do you generally use a hosting site for the photo's (if so who) and whats the process for uploading shots within a thread on here ? (acceptable resolutions ? resized to ? etc)

Also if anyone wants to get in touch then please feel free
