Call us tourists, but it all starts with the panoramic visit of tour Montparnasse. There’s nothing like a photo session 689 feet above Paris: truly impressive view of various landmarks, especially the Eiffel tower and its lighting display.
Not long after 11pm, while the ambient light is still favourable to photography, we are urged to leave. This is rather annoying: Would our recently-developed taste for aerial views be bound to discontentment? What about that nice construction site we went by a few days ago?
A tower crane is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you’re gonna get. Unlucky, we get a padlocked hatch right before the top. The view isn’t too bad up here, yet we aren’t enjoying the victorious feeling which successful explores usually result in.
A failure definitely won’t do: Hoping for the best we head straight to the second crane of the site. After a hasty climb, we’re pleased this time to find an open hatch leading to the top. We enjoy the view, try the operator’s seat, and extend a photo session which for no good reason had been put on hold for a few hours.
