I found this place really, really interesting!
It was built in the second world war but was developed as a radar station in the 1950s and the massive bunker structure was built to support this...
this was the radar station in 1962...
this is it now.
there are quite a few above ground structures to view, including the sub station.
the guard house has the stairs down to the bunker...
the bunker suffered an arson attack and so we took precautions...there are piles of asbestos around the place and the dust is in the air.
A satanic sex cult squatted in the bunker in the 70s and had to be evicted by the RAF, apparently they drew these interesting frescoes...
blast doors...
i think this was the officer's mess when it was in operation.
this is the emergency exit, which you can see above ground....
which is the building in the background, the one in the foreground is i believe for ventilation.
fantastic site! Im amazed by the history of this place, its a shame its so trashed inside. I hate arsonists.
