Right, got the picture thing sorted...

The old airfield at Eshott; a good explore if you like military/WWII history and not just taking pictures.

RAF Eshott was opened in 1942 (I think) and was home to No 57 OTU RAF (the training of Spitfire pilots) before the unit was transferred to nearby RAF Boulmer in 1942. A lot of the original buildings are still there, dispersed over the site with some being used by farmers.

Great pictures Foz, it's nice to see the detail of the blast shelter. It's a little known fact that these structures were meant to double as defence posts in the event of an attack so ought to get as much attention as we give pillboxes on this forum.
