Here is a proper, recent Tour Bus site. I saw this popping up everywhere; and I do like a cinema so I thought I would ask around and take a trip there. Demolition was well underway here and it made sense to go asap; and as I was working all of the weekends at that time; I had to get there in the evening after the Demolition Guys had clocked off for the night.
Myself and a friend headed here Early Evening and got in side with relative ease; though I did need to use a few things to help get down the hoarding. We bumped into several different explorers here. As I say; a tourbus location if there ever was one!
It was a fairly modern cinema; only opening on the 13th May 1997. The Showcase had a sleek sweeping curve to its façade which has two slender towers at each end.
According to the website “Cinema Treasures” “The central section is a massive floor-to-ceiling curved glass window, which allowed daylight into the foyer and at night welcomed patrons towards the bright lights within.” The cinema closed its doors Early 2022 and is well underway to being demolished along with the restaurants on site. Warehouses will be built on site.
The cinema stood next to Europes biggest Sewage Treatment Works and also a very large Household Waste Centre; and was over all very industrial! What a place to go and watch a film!

It really is a shame to see a not particularly old cinema being demolished. To think how much work would have gone into construction; only for it to last less than 30 years. It was quite interesting walking around; having worked in a cinema not much newer than this in Aylesbury for many years!
