Thornaby Traction Maintenance and Rolling Stock Depot (TM&RSD)
Thornaby Depot was built in 1958 for British Railways later became British Rail,
originally a steam Depot but in later years as a diesel Depot.
In its last 10 years, it mainly serviced Brush class 60s and General Motors class 66s.
The Depot was acquired by English Welsh and Scotish Railways (EW&S) in 1995 as part of privatisation,
(EW&S) was then bought by D B Schenker in 2008 and the Depot was subsequently closed and demolished June 2011.
The Remaining Tees Marshalling yard is in use for shunting, storing of Locomotives and rolling stock.
