Just found this forum, and what a really interesting find it is. I'm mainly into military storage stuff, and was particularly interested in Chilmark and Fauld posts. As an ex RAF armourer I did a visit to Chilmark when it was still in use. Did a trip to Fauld some years ago and had a good look round the Fauld site. If you go up into the hill above the British Gypsum works you will find the entrances to some of the bomb gallerys which, when I was there, had their entrances filled in with earth, although some one had made an attempt to get in one of them, probably to slavage the copper lightning protection that was attatched to the walls. I remember as a young aircraft weapons apprentice being shown pictures of Fauld as an example of what happens if you screw up in an explosives storage area.
