hey everyone thought ide put a few pics of west park up. most of the place has now been demolished and a new housing estate has been built in its place.. but there are still a few little bits that remain.. We where in the area yesterday and decided to drop in.

here is some info from wikki for you.

The hospital was designed by William C. Clifford-Smith (architect to the London County Council), who was also involved in the design of nearby St Ebba's and The Manor Hospitals. The hospital had been in planning since 1906, and by 1917 it was largely complete; however, the outbreak of war postponed opening until 1921. The hospital was the last great London mental hospital, and the last of the Epsom Cluster, a group of five mental institutions on the Horton Estate to the west of Epsom (the others being Horton, Manor, Long Grove and St Ebba's.) The hospital follows the compact arrow design, with external villas.

on with the pictures..

Thanks for looking :)

wow there is something to see after all besides the brains, must get to those bits fast I think more darn sarf will be on order now, wicked piks thanks for sharing and the heads up :)

Nice, I didn't realise there was really anything there now apart from the morgue and one villa. Good stuff.

Was all that 'new' looking equipment there beforehand? Don't think I have seen that before, has another block opened up?

From the looks of it another building on site may have closed, most of those photos I don't recognise the location of. I know that other buildings on site were closing at some point, a couple more shut in 2010.

I remember seeing similar stuff in one of the out buildings a few years ago, possibly Scott House. That place has been used as storage for ages.

Good to see fresh photos, reminds me of it's glory days.
