Hoorah! My first ever ROC post, and really loved it. Following an excellent tip off from Newtonian, the pair of us set off for a summers evening retro undergound explore.
Birdsall ROC post is on the Malton to Sledmere road, across the top of the wolds, and the trip in the car is worthy enough, however here is the beast:
We found that the way down is not suited to portly people:
The room is in really good, if somewhat stripped, condition:
The nettee, which had a little dead mouse in it :
The body splint:
Crate with my Fenix at work in it:
Odds and ends:
Exit and entrance:
Air vent from the lav:
Final one, the beauty that is North Yorkshire:
We both learnt a few things on this explore:
1. The entrance chamber is not meant for people that eat too many takeaways;
2. Do watch out for the counterweight colliding with your head when climbing back up;
3. Remember to unhook the hinge before you try to close and secure the lid - doh!
Thanks for the visit Newtonian!
Ian
