Visited with compadre Prickly_buzz.
A very popular explore that's been covered by a few folk on the forums here and it's easy to see why it's so popular... This place is just pure AWESOME! Probably hands down the best explore I've ever done! It's in pretty good nick, it's very photogenic and by golly it's BIG!
Our first trip up here was a bit of a fail, seeing as we didn't really know specifically what we were looking for. We walked around the surface buildings all pumped up, popping off shots, but couldn't find the bunker itself! We returned home refusing to be beat and tried to get more research done. I sent off an email or two and a good Samaritan provided vital assistance Many thanks to that good Samaritan for trusting us and helping us!!! Also big thanks to Prickly_buzz for getting us up there this time round...guess I'm a bit of an old granny when it comes to driving
Despite a sprinkling of snow, a traffic jam, one dude falling asleep in his car during said traffic jam and a lorry with the wheel hanging off, we made it!
I'm lacking in surface building shots because I took all of mine on an analogue camera. Stay tuned for those, I'll get them developed soon. Perhaps Pb can provide some of those sooner though
Getting down the steps, I'm starting to become overwhelmed by this place...the experience starts to become surreal.

I originally thought this was some sort of mainframe with valves and what not, but it's actually relays, repeaters and some sort of telecoms equipment from what I gather. Incredible.

Big ass room!

Air con room. There's oil and water everywhere. Consequently my boots and tripod now smell like a combination of chip fat and 3-in-1

Triumph! Made it out, just in time for coffee, sandwiches and snacks! By the time we got home I was an hour and a half late for my evening job...TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Thanks for looking folks! Sorry for the major pic heavy-ness of my report, but there are just so many cool features of this site! Full set of about 38 pictures is on my Flickr!
