Another Orphanage, Down South - November 2013

Not much to say an old Orphanage building with some stunning features on the ground floor! Some awesome chandeliers and decorative coving / ceiling roses and lots of nice wood work! I’ve fancied checking out this place for along time but only really in 2013 seen more pictures of the other rooms which are extremely impressive to see with the naked eye!

Visited with AndyK, Mick, Zee Ze, Magpie Tommy and Darbian. The place lived up to all expectations! stunning! Enjoy the photos:

That staircase - wow!

Presumably this is another stately home converted into an orphanage and then closed in the late C-20? It must have looked incredible in either guise.

A beautiful building, very often when these houses are converted into orphanages/care homes many period features are lost, happily this doesn't seem to be the case here (although the decay is another matter). Brilliant photos.

Cheers Scottishbob, I think it was originally build to be an orphanage and had been refurbished shortly after closure.

Pics 11, 12 and 13 are all we saw on our visit except a small corridor with all doors locked. Then the ground shook, birds went quiet and the Kraken appeared....she's a damn scary woman
