Beacon Waste Incinerator

[Rubex]

Beacon Waste Incinerator closed in the early 2000s and was sold by the council to a private buyer in 2007. Plans were made to have an “eco-community” built on this old site but they have since been rejected. Several operators are interested in restoring the site to be used as an incinerator once more with the intention of turning it into a specialist facility dealing with veterinary and medical waste.
