Day 5 of 14.
Hi all
Today we popped off to Faur-a-chaux bunker, another Maginot line bunker and again an English tour which means almost a personnel tour with a guide
which is sweet.
It`s a "medium" size bunker built between 1930 and 1935, I can`t find much info about this one.
Again we entered via the top personnel block house, the thing that is very different about this bunker is that the personnel block and munition block are
linked not by a lift but by a slope shaft.
Pictures.............
Sign post to the power plant.
The power plant room is amazing (but not the best we were going too see - you`ll have to wait for that later)
Standing at the top of the munition slope shaft.
Its a bloody long way down, the ammo rail cars are winched up and down with massive cables.
Looking up in to the 75mm artillery turret, it still works.
Getting in to part of the magazine area that was off limits...........ops
Right that`s your lot, thanks for looking and all comments are most welcome.
There is a metric shit load of more pictures on my FlickR site so get your lazy arse over there and have a look.
