Just a small domestic place that I think is worthy of a report.
On the outskirts of Leicester my partner in crime found this one ages ago, after few weeks of scoping to make sure it was empty we were in.
Approx. 6 months later a few others found it & it got passed around as usual, a few weeks later it was secured.

This was the only external I got but the house is in a bad way with serious structural issues, Im not sure it will ever be lived in again.
Shame as it was a grand place, I loved the layout & style.

Thanks For Looking

Beautiful! I have only seen this house once before when searching for derelict properties in Leicestershire, it popped up in The Mirror news paper. The owner was apparently a army major who passed away in 2015 with no family.

Well that's more info than I have on it, was it in papers? That just shows the level of stupidity some will go to just to get their name out & make a few quid

I love the coffee table btw, it had all cut gem stones inlaid in it.
Like the wade figures too I have quite a rare set of these myself

There's something suspiciously film-set about the house. For a start there is remarkably little dust and cobwebs if it's really been abandoned since 2015. The objects seem to have been placed with an eye to creating a set for a haunted house movie, rather than being genuinely left behind by a real inhabitant.
Why would an army major keep a vintage doll on his bed?

It's a fake. Someone's having a joke.

I thought the towel over the bath edge looked completely wrong. Mould on the walls but the towel is nice and clean.

You

You'll be surprised at how prestine some houses can look, especially when there's no broken windows, or doors left open to accelerate the decaying process. Also this property has had little foot fall, so everything is left intact. I did say - Apparently about the army major. It could be that his wife had the bed with the doll on it, as there are silver vanity items left too . Lots of older couples have separate bedrooms when they get older.

Yes its fake, what I did was bought a house & sprinkled it with a few antiquities so I could take some pics... what have you been smoking!

Ok Im assuming you are not a seasoned explorer / photographer so I will explain.
Pretty much all residentials are owned by someone so the status of "abandoned" is always controversial as indeed are residential explores in general.
I dont personally know when this house was left but can assure you noone was living in it at time of our explore, as I stated we were watching the property for a while.
Its possible that the house was in probate which most of the good ones are & its also possible or I would say likely that someone was periodically checking the property, which is why within a few weeks of it appearing on fb, youtube & generally going to the masses it was cleared out & sealed up!

Im not that keen on residential explores but have prob done 100 (a small percentage of places Iv explored) & the only way to keep them like this is not to share with anyone until such time as they are already out there, believe me Iv done plenty more that have remained like this undiscovered until they have been restored.

Anyway to answer your comments yes we did "stage" some of this. Again a controversial thing & something I dont do very often but it just felt right here.
there was a lot of nice stuff that would of been otherwise unseen if they were left in draws.
Really dont see how this becomes "haunted house movie" I guess if u believe in that shit u may see it that way.

Didnt do a lot though, from memory we did the doll, the hairbrushes & set the kitchen table.
The ornaments were pretty much left as they stood.

Also the art of photographing a house like this IMO is making it look... well better than it actually is.
Iv attached a few pics that show the real state of the place, the front bay was essentially split off the building.
I have heard its actually that bad it is being demolished but will have to confirm that next time im out that way.

Anyway below are a few other residentials Iv done with very little staging for your viewing pleasure & just to prove they do exist

Beautifully done. What a shame though.

I agree something not quite right about it. The bottles of water don't look 8 yrs old, table laid, plus the doll on the bed and cleanliness........weird.
I live in LE, I would like to know wits location.

Loads of explores are like that. We did a cinema where half the chairs had been replaced with filing cabinets facing the screen. "staged" looks often happen naturally. One person could have lived there and only used a couple of rooms so some rooms look way more abandoned than those two. Plus once abandoned the new owners or probate executors or builders could have been in moving stuff around and leaving newer looking stuff (like drinks, newspapers, etc) in the house. And urbexers will also move stuff around that they want to photo. The only stuff that bugs me is the fake paranormal idiots who throw red paint around and spray paint "spooky" stuff on the walls. They are pricks. The Williams pub I reported on here was like that. I only said it looked like a movie set because if someone was going to set up a derelict house for a movie, it would probably look like that. NOT that I thought someone had brought loads of items with them to take photos... 🙄🙄🙄
